We Survived the Summer! It’s Back to School Time

Yahoo! It’s back to school and more importantly, back to middle level student leadership training and skills development. We hope you are looking forward to beginning the new school year as much as we are. The IAJHSC Executive Board is gearing up to resume its full slate of leadership activities for the coming year.

Our very first activity is coming up very soon. On Thursday and Friday, September 29th and 30th, the IAJHSC Executive Board will hold its Fall Executive Board meeting at Eastland Suites & Conference Center in Bloomington, IL. Be sure to contact your district’s Adult Director if you have any questions or concerns you wish to be brought before the Executive Board. The State Service Project for 2022-2023 will be chosen at that meeting.

Following the Fall Executive Board meeting, we will be hosting a fully in-person Advisors’ Leadership Workshop. We are trying something new this year. In order to help advisors having to get a substitute – not that they are hard to find or anything – the Advisors’ Leadership Workshop will be held on Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st, at Eastland Suites & Conference Center in Bloomington, IL.

Registration on Friday evening will begin at 7:00pm so everyone attending should be able to be there on time without missing a day of school. The workshop will end on Saturday somewhere between 2:00pm and 3:00pm allowing for your safe return and still have part of your weekend left to enjoy at home. The Google registration form and all the program information will be emailed to you very soon. Registration deadline is Friday, September 16, 2022.

Don’t forget to start planning on attending the 64th annual IAJHSC State Convention in Springfield, IL, at the Crown Plaza Hotel & Convention Center on April 21 – 22, 2023. The per delegate (student or chaperone) will remain at $125. Our keynote presenter will be Ms. Adrienne Bulinski, a nationally recognized motivational speaker. She promises to entertain, motivate, and inspire all who are in attendance.

As always, be sure to contact any board member with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. We are always happy to listen to your input and help in any way we are able.
