The purpose of the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Councils has been, since our beginning in 1958, to develop the leadership qualities of junior high/middle school students and to educate them in the workings of Student Council. Our Association provides a unique avenue for advisors and students to exchange ideas and to solve problems by sharing experiences.

Message from the Executive Director

On behalf of the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Councils, I welcome you to our website. Our organization, the IAJHSC, is one of only two such organizations in the whole United States! We are a group of students and advisors who are dedicated to setting a high standard of excellence as we train our student leaders for the demands that will face them in tomorrow's world.

The IAJHSC offers you the opportunity to participate in outstanding workshops and training sessions. By attending Fall and Mid-year school hosted workshops, your students and advisors alike will share in leadership sessions that they are sure to remember. Students have a week long Summer Leadership Camp available for them to attend. At camp they have the chance to have a lot of fun while they learn how to make your student council a strong, productive team of leaders. An advisors' workshop and resource file help advisors build their student councils to be the best. A State Service Project and an annual State Convention give our members the chance to participate and celebrate in positive leadership.

The IAJHSC is an exceptional organization designed to inspire our students to their greatest leadership potential.
